The Benefits of Essential Oils (Our slime’s super power)
What are essential oils? Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts. It can take from a couple hundred to a couple thousand pounds of the plant to create just one pound of essential oil. It is believed that because it takes such a large amount of plant to create the essential oil that it is a powerful botanical medicine as mentioned by Dr. Lin (Wellness, 2021). There are different ways these essential oils are used, such as aromatherapy or application through skin (diluted). It is important to note that essential oils should never be swallowed.
Aromatherapy, which is the inhaling of aromas from essential oils, stimulates your limbic system (brain) and is known for its role in influencing emotions, behaviors, memory, and sense of smell.
